One of the most innovative ideas to hit Ibiza over the past decade has to be the introduction of the 'Ibiza Rocks' hotel in this summer 08 season. As we know, Ibiza Rocks is into its second year now and due to the huge success and reviews from their first season they have decided to take it two steps further and open an exclusive hotel in San Antonio. Breaking away from the traditional idea that everything revolves around dance music here on the island, the owners and promoters are attempting to create a holiday for lovers of live bands, rock 'n' roll, and indie who would not normally consider Ibiza as a destination for such a holiday. Yet, as I have mentioned its here and its doing extremely well. Each room in the hotel has been totally modernised and the hotel itself from the reception to the stage area and pool area are also cool. The stage area is very unique because it's totally surrounded on all sides by all of the rooms in the hotel which allows people to listen and watch the bands from their balcony's or go down to them. There have been some big name performers so far this season like The Fratellis, The Enemy, The Wombats. Up and coming gigs to look forward to are The Zutons, The Streets, Soulwax, and even some Rap in the form of Dizzee Rascal.Other dates to look out for in the coming weeks are the annual Radio 1 weekend event on the 2nd August, which includes a party in Amnesia. The line-up reads, Pete Tong, Eddie Halliwell, John Digweed, Zane Lowe and more..... Attilio
