‘Preserving the Sanctity of Marriage’
(This series is drawn from The Ten Commandments: Playing by the Rules by Stuart Briscoe)
Do you find yourself rather put off by the Ten Commandments? All those ‘thou shalt nots’…gets a bit much, doesn’t it? I mean, apart from Commandments 4 (keeping Sunday special) and 5 (honouring parents) we have had five ‘thou shalt nots’ so far, with another one this week! And  two more to come! Well, at first reading it all does seem rather stifling. But we have to remember that the negative statement hides a positive one. ‘No adultery!’ will catch your attention. But the positive statement behind the negative command is: Protect your marriage/relationship by being faithful. Our wellbeing, happiness and ultimately the fabric of our communities are built on faithfulness in the most intimate relationship there can be between two people.  (Couples wishing to improve a good relationship or address issues are welcome to try The Marriage Course offered by the Chaplaincy free of charge. It gives very practical tools for issues such as communication, conflict resolution, family issues, etc. and you do not have to be a church-goer.  Contact Bob the Vicar for details.)
Friday 23rd March 7:30 p.m Quiz Night at S’Hort de Can Masia (Sarah Milburn’s house) near Sta Eulalia.

Easter Sunday 8th April 11:00 Holy Communion, Capilla de Lourdes, (main street through town, # 85), Sta. Eulalia & 18:00 Holy Communion, San Fernando, Formentera

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: The Ten Commandments: 7) Protect marriage. You shall not commit adultery. Exodus 20.14 Adultery makes a mockery of faithfulness. Unfaithfulness in one area can lead to unfaithfulness in other areas of life, similarly faithfulness in this area reinforces faithfulness in your life generally.
