REIKI HEALER

New to Ibiza Reiki Master John learnt his art in India and was kind enough to offer us a complimentary session so that we could give a first hand account to our readers. Most will have heard of Reiki but for the uninitiated Reiki differs to traditional massage in that it does not involve touch - the practitioner relies upon the body´s energies in their therapy which many believe can be beneficial in both physical and emotional/spiritual ways. The session starts with John explaining the process and answering any questions. The session itself lasted around an hour for which you lay on a bed as you would for any massage, and there was incense and calming music, but from that point forget anything you may be expecting involving muscle pounding or flesh kneading - in fact during the whole session John only "laid hands" 3 times - once briefly to my feet, once to my body and for an extended period lightly to my head. Certainly a very relaxing experience, though of course it is not intended as some miracle cure from which you would awaken a different person, but it did seem to have something of the desired re-energising effect - at least that’s according to my wife who pointed out that I hadn’t ran up the stairs for a long time.
